Fantasy Football review

And so round 27 of the Premier League came to an end with champions Chelsea getting back to winning ways over bottom of the table West Brom.

Fantasy managers will have a week's break as the FA Cup fifth round comes into focus for the next seven days. However, nerves will be frayed, each and every manager in the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union, will cross their fingers and toes and hope none of their players gets injured on cup duty.

But with no Premier League matches for the next week let us have a look at the top three of our league at present.

1 Kevin Fahy - Mayo Vallecano - 1,702

The team who have spent most of the season sitting top of the pile have strengthened their grip on first position over the past three game weeks. Mayo Vallecano sit 55 points clear and are looking good for the title. The champion elect's strike power has been key with the fab four of Sergio Aguero, Robert Firminio, Mohamed Salah, and Raheem Sterling garnering 142 points among them. If Fahy can tighten up Mayo Vallecano's defence which has seen them leak a few goals in recent weeks then the Tribal Leader League title will be adorned with green and red ribbons come mid May.

2 Alexander Spieß - Dragonstone FC - 1,647

With an attitude that the best form of defence is attack, the performances of the tremendous trio; Eden Hazard; Mohamed Salah; and Sergio Aguero; has seen Alexander Spieß and his charges move up to second in the table. Although Dragonstone FC is sitting 55 points adrift of the league leaders, there is plenty of fire left in the bellies of manager Spieß and his men and if they can continue their recent improvement then we are in for an exciting finish.

3 Kieran Burke - Davitts - 1,633

Davitts have quietly sneaked into the top three since our last review. Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero have been the stand out performers for Kieran Burke's team but where the Red and Blacks have excelled is in defence. Cesar Azpilicueta, Virgil Van Dijk, Nicolas Otamendi, and Adrian Mariappa have all produced strong performances to secure vital Fantasy points in recent weeks. If Burke's men can keep it tight at the back and allow their marquee attacking options to flourish then Davitts could be dark horses in this race.
