Athenry is one of the main commuter towns for Galway city, situated approximately 25km to the east of the city. According to Census 2016, the population of Athenry was 4,445 and growing.

Located off Junction 17 of the M6 Dublin–Galway motorway, the town is served by rail and bus on a regular basis also. Situated on the Galway–Dublin and Galway–Limerick rail lines, the property is within walking distance of Athenry train station. There are eight trains per day each way on the Galway to Limerick line, and 18 trains per day on the Galway to Dublin line, reducing to four and 11 respectively each way on Sundays. Buses to Galway serve Athenry six times per day.
