Galway's West End's celebration of live music, comedy and club culture returns in February

ONCE UPON A Time Back The West, Galway's West End's celebration of live music, comedy and club culture to shake off the winters blues, returns in February.

OUATBTW will see events in the Róisín Dubh, The Blue Note, Massimo, and Leisureland, starting Thursday February 8 with free shows from acclaimed Irish electro duo Le Boom in the Róisín Dubh and Coisa D'Preto in Massimo.

Friday 9 is the Strange Brew showcase in the Róisín Dubh with DJ/producer/fiddle player Daithí; Irish indie-electro trio Slow Place Like Home; singer/composer Elaine Mai; and singer-songwriter Paddy Hanna. Admission is free. There will be comedy upstairs with Glenn Wool and Karl Spain. Tickets are €12/14. There will be free shows in Massimo with the Rowdy Brothers and in The Blue Note with Mix and Fairbanks.

Saturday 10 sees Franz Ferdinand in Leisureland; comedian/satirist Andy Zaltzman in the Róisín Dubh; and free shows in The Blue Note with 110th Street and DJ Mac in Massimo.

Sunday 11 will see the Sing Along Social in the Róisín Dubh, followed by late night jazz with John Conneely Inc, in the Róisín Dubh. There will be The Blue Notes in The Blue Note and Jade & The Goodies in Massimo.
