Show Me The Funny 2018

Comedy talent search competition returns to The King's Head

IT'S BACK! Show Me The Funny, one of Ireland's major comedy competitions, returns to The King's Head this month, with emerging comedians fighting it out over the coming weeks, for the right to play Electric Picnic.

The first of five successive Monday night heats takes place this Monday, January 22, at 8pm, with eight new comedians taking part, each competing to reach the grand final in February. The special guest will be the brilliant Karl Spain.

The overall winner will play the Comedy Tent at Electric Picnic and get two VIP weekend tickets for the festival itself. Previous winners include Irish Comedian Of The Year 2016 Steve Bennett, as well as Johnny Graham, Niamh Marron, Danny Ryan, and Laura Byrne, while previous years finalists have included Al Porter, Alison Spittle, and internet sensation Farmer Michael.

Gerry Mallon is the host and MC. Tickets are €5 and available at the door.
