Spend Christmas Day in front of the fire instead of the oven

The Twelve Bakery shop takes the stress out of Christmas dinner

Following the many relieved and anxiety-free diners populating the Barna area and further afield last year, this year The Twelve Bakery shop at The Twelve Hotel continues to take much of the stress and hassle out of your Christmas dinner, with a series of life-changing, time-saving, and delicious offers.

Order before December 21 and The Twelve Bakery will prepare a splendid Christmas feast for you — turkey, ham, plus all the essential tasty trimmings — which you can collect on Christmas Eve and serve to your delighted family and friends on Christmas Day. The team will even let you take all the credit for yourself as the plaudits come flying in.

Ideal for those who do not have time to cook, who find cooking stressful, who have just too many people to cook for all by themselves, or those who simply want to relax and spend Christmas Day stuffing themselves instead of a whole turkey, the bakery shop at The Twelve has a turkey and ham hock Wellington dinner for €38 for two people and €70 for four people. This comes with all the trimmings including stuffing, roast potatoes, vegetables, and cranberry sauce, as well as a bottle of mulled wine to enjoy while it cooks. Or indulge yourself and pre-order a luscious smoked ham cooked on The Green Egg and served with a honey, maple, and mustard glaze, priced at €38 and enough for the whole family

If you are happy to do all the cooking yourself, you can still get help from those handy magic elves at The Twelve Bakery and take home some handmade goodies to add some sparkle to your Christmas dinner.

Also available from The Twelve’s culinary brigade are jars of gorgeous confit of duck; cranberry, rosemary and orange jam; delectable red wine and herb jus, perfect for the turkey (288ml for €4 ); jam jars of ham glaze which are ready to use; a cranberry, Cointreau, and sloe gin relish; duck fat for the perfect crispy spuds; house sausage and fresh herb stuffing; or a smoked pancetta, sage and chervil stuffing (or both ).

Of course, you can also order desserts such as the signature 1lb Christmas pudding with dangerously tasty homemade brandy butter, lush trifles, classic tiramisu, cheesecakes, banoffees, and bags of mulled wine marshmallows and West restaurant’s fudge.

If you do not find exactly what you are after – just ask. With a little notice almost anything is possible, and there is nothing that makes those busy Twelve elves happier than making Christmas cracking for as many people as possible.

The Twelve Bakery is also a treasure trove of stocking-stuffers for foodies, with onion marmalades, preserves, organic chocolates, fabulous wines, and amazing olive oils sourced from good friends of The Twelve in Marche, Italy. The team at The Twelve Bakery would also be delighted to fill a hamper choc-full of your particular favourites for the perfect Christmas gift. As always, goodies are also available gluten-free.

"The Twelve is all about having fun, and at Christmas our goal is to spread some festive cheer in the best way we know how,” says general manager Fergus O’Halloran, “which, at The Twelve Bakery, is by making the most delicious Christmas goodies we can, making everyone’s celebrations a little less hard work and a lot more delicious.”
