Fantasy Football round 12 preview

Praise the Lord the Premier League is back. Tuesday night was arguably one of the biggest disappointments Irish football has ever seen and many of the team's supporters need club action to distract them from the awful thought of missing out on football's big jamboree next summer and painting Red Square green.

However, Tuesday night's debacle has come and passed and it is now back to the bread and butter of domestic action and trying to get more points to move up the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union.

So who should you select for round 12 of the Premier League?

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool ) v Southampton

The Egyptian international is on fire for the Reds at the moment with six goals in his last five outings in all competitions. Fantasy managers will have the luxury of a recharged Salah this weekend, after he was rested for Egypt's clash with Ghana last Saturday. On Saturday afternoon, Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield, a side who have only won once in their last six Premier League matches. I believe Jurgen Kloop's charges' firepower will be too much to handle for the Saints and Salah will be guaranteed to have his name on the score sheet. Get him in your team.

Richarlison (Watford ) v West Ham

The 20-year-old Brazilian is having a wonderful debut season in the league. With four goals, including one against Everton last time out, and two assists, the striker is flourishing under the stewardship of Marco Silva. On Sunday, Watford host struggling West Ham at Vicarage Road. The Hammers' appointment of David Moyes, a manager who seems to relegate every club with which he comes in contact, seems to suggest the club have accepted their fate this early in the season. West Ham have the worst defence in the league conceding 23 goals to date and I expect the Hornets to inflict more pain on the east London club, with Richarlison adding to his goal tally for the term.

Glenn Murray (Brighton ) v Stoke City

With four goals in his last three appearances, Glenn Murray is in the form of his career. If the 34-year-old forward continues this streak he might creep into England's squad for the World Cup. OK, I exaggerate, but the Brighton man has discovered his scoring boots and on Monday evening, Murray will no doubt be causing problems for the league's second worst defence, Stoke City.
