Annual GMIT lecture on Irish economy open to the public

Professor John Fitzgerald will be giving his annual lecture on the Irish economy to GMIT business students at the Galway (Dublin Road ) campus on Wednesday next ( November 1 ).

Members of the public are welcome to attend this lecture, entitled 'The Irish Economy: Current trends and risks to outlook'.

John FitzGerald has been a research affiliate at the ESRI since November 2014. Prior to that, he was a research professor at the ESRI and programme coordinator of the Macroeconomics Research Area.

Professor FitzGerald is president of the Association d’Instituts Européens de Conjoncture Économique and a former president of the Irish Economic Association. He is currently a member of the Commission of the Central Bank of Ireland and of the Independent Expert Panel established in 2014 by the Department of Communications Energy and Natural resources.
