The Ardilaun hotel has recently welcomed its first fairy family who have set up home in the garden and are a great attraction for all children dining in the hotel with their families, whether in The Ardilaun Bistro or the Camilaun Restaurant.
The enchanting gardens at The Ardilaun are an ideal location and we can see why the fairies chose this secluded garden with huge old oak and maple trees as a perfect place to set up home. When visiting The Ardilaun Fairy Garden, fairy experts advise to tip toe and to stay really quiet. The fairies picked the safest part of the garden, to the rear of the hotel’s garden patio near the fountain, away from the car park.
As part of the 55 years celebrations at The Ardilaun, a free fairy trail map, which is fun and informative for both young and old, is given to all children who dine in The Ardilaun Bistro or who have for Sunday lunch at The Ardilaun. Award winning head chef Ultan Cooke and his team have just introduced new bistro lunch and dinner menus, with seasonal specials which change daily to make the most of the freshest produce and include delicious fish and roasts of the day, power salads, soups, and sandwiches.
Popular main course dishes include The Ardilaun cheeseburger, 10oz Hereford sirloin steak, Thai green curry, and grilled chicken breast, along with sweet treats such as strawberry crème brulée, and an old time favourite sticky toffee pudding. Using the finest selection of local artisan produce, each dish uses home-grown herbs, and delights from The Ardilaun’s own kitchen walled garden and herb garden also add an extra special homemade touch to each sumptuous dish.
The popular hotel - known for its service, family-run warmth, and stunning location and grounds, with free parking, is the perfect stop for eating out. Hot food is served from 12 noon to 9pm, with light bites also available all day. For more information call 091 521433 or visit www.theardilaunhotel.ie
