GIAF 17 DJ nights @ Electric

Bill Brewster and Privacy to DJ at Abbeygate Street venue

BILL BREWSTER, the DJ extraordinaire and human music–encyclopedia, and the enigmatic, Berlin based DJ, Privacy, will be spinning the decks at the Electric Garden & Theatre, as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.

Brewster - also a respected writer and journalist, known for his wide ranging taste in music, and his sensitivity and sense of occasion when DJing - plays Electric this Saturday from 11pm. He cut his teeth DJing in the late 1980s in New York at the 'Low Life’ warehouse parties in Harlem and the East Village. Throughout the 1990s, he operated a handful of labels, such as 5XO-294, Sugar Daddy, and the British arm of Twisted.

On the same night, also at 11pm, the Epoch clubnight brings Privacy to Factory. In an era of DJ selfies and heavy press promotion, Privacy stands out as an anomaly. Not much is known about the artist other than he is based in Berlin and is a first rate DJ. Support is from Conor Connolly.

Tonight will see Electric host legendary Galway clubnight, 110th Street, in The Garden, while tomorrow sees John Daly bring another instalment of Move to the Electric main floor from 11pm.

Tickets are available from Resident Advisor and the GIAF box office, Forster Street. See also www.giaf.ie
