Geoff Whiting to play Cellar comedy club

Comedy club marks it's first birthday next week

BRITISH COMEDIAN Geoff Whiting - the man who gave Jimmy Carr his start - is coming to Galway to perform at The Cellar Comedy Club, which is marking its first birthday this month.

For the past year, John O'Hare, Duffy Connors, and Gavin McCready have hosted weekly shows in the Eglinton Street venue, and on Wednesday June 28 at 9pm, the club marks this milestone with a headline show from Geoff Whiting.

Whiting has played leading British comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, and Komedia (Brighton and Bath ). He has supported Michael McIntyre, Harry Hill, Dara O'Briain, Omid Djalili, Lee Mack, Ross Noble, Milton Jones, Micky Flanagan, and Noel Fielding. He has also warmed up TV studio audiences for Shooting Stars with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, and Ponderland with Russell Brand and Mitchell and Webb.

Support is from Aideen McQueen who has shared the stage with Sean Hughes, Ardal O'Hanlon, and Johnny Vegas. Also performing is Paul David Murphy, who is currently touring with Farmer Michael & Kathleen on the Down Below tour. Tickets are via eventbrite.ie
