The Claregalway senior ladies footballers won the Comòrtas peile na Gaeltachta last weekend in Tourmakeady.

The comòrtas is an annual event which is a celebration of Gaelic football in Gaeltacht areas around the country, and the competition has been running since 1969.

The Galway side defeated Gleann Finne (Donegal ) in their semi-final on a score-line of 3-12 to 0-7 and played another Galway squad - Maigh Cuillin in the final.

In an entertaining and high scoring final the Claregalway girls prevailed with Andrea Trill chosen as the player of the match.
