Specsavers Eyre Square Shopping Centre first opened its doors in 1991 and since then store director Noel Meehan, along with a team of experienced opticians, audiologists and highly trained customer service staff have proudly served the local community.
‘Since opening in 1991, we have grown significantly and have undergone a number of improvements so that our store boasts the latest in optical and hearing technology for our customers in Galway,” said Mr Meehan.
From routine eye examinations to complex contact lens fittings, Specsavers Eyre Square can provide all aspects of professional eye care. Since opening in 1991, Specsavers Eyre Square now boasts six optical testing rooms and uses the most up to date equipment including OCT technology (optical coherence tomography ). The store has invested in sophisticated optical technology, including Digital Precision Eyecare, a cutting-edge way of selecting and fitting customers’ glasses using imaging software on tablet devices.
In addition to being experts in eye health, Specsavers Eyre Square also specialise in hearing with an on-site hearing centre, overseen by Audiologist Elizabeth Ryan, which provides testing seven days a week. The store also provides free three-minute hearing screenings, with no need to book an appointment and the screener lets customers know whether they would benefit from a full hearing test, which takes about an hour.
Furthermore, the Eyre Square store is now delighted to offer rechargeable hearing aids as part of their hearing package, ideal for those who do not want the fuss of changing batteries. Signia Cellion primax hearing aids are the world’s first hearing aids with lithium-ion inductive charging. They are simple, smart and powerful meaning you’ll enjoy the benefit of all-day hearing and the simplicity of recharging.
Specsavers Eyre Square is a local community optician and hearing centre, where supporting local clubs and charities is a key part of the store’s culture, with the store regularly raising much needed funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and Barnardos.
With a staff that has grown from 6 to 35 since opening its doors in 1991, the team at Specsavers Eyre Square are healthcare professionals who pride themselves on providing the best possible healthcare service for eye and ear health to customers. With rigorous training programmes in place for staff and investment in the best technology available, Specsavers is always striving to improve its service for the people of Galway.
