DAVID BOLAND is one of the main figures in the indie-rock and alternative music scene in Galway city and a prime figures behind the Citóg nights in the Róisín Dubh. As a musician in his own right, he goes under the name of New Pope, and his new album is out now.
LOVE, is the artist's new album - with a stunning cover that strongly references Duran Duran's Rio, Grace Jones, and early 1980s graphics - was released on New Year's Eve, and finds Boland exploring themes of love across seven lengthy tracks:
All songs are written by David Boland. The album was recorded in College Road, with musicians Colm Bohan (backing vocals, drums, organ ); Stephen Connolly (organ ), G Tobin (backing vocals ); Mosey Byrne (drums ).
