Galway business breakfast to explore impact of Brexit and Trump

The impact of Brexit and the US elections on Irish businesses will be discussed by Professor Alan Ahearne of NUI Galway at a CIMA breakfast briefing in Galway’s Clayton Hotel on Wednesday November 30.

Specifically, the briefing will discuss how businesses should be preparing to deal with these over the coming years. Attendance at the event is free. It is now four months since the UK referendum to leave the EU and in that short time there has already been considerable market and exchange rate volatility, and this seems to be the trend for some time to come.

In parallel the election in the US of Donald Trump has raised concerns, not least in Galway, for the impact on the FDI sector with its strong linkages to the US.

Roger Action, Head CIMA Ireland said that what the future holds for business in Ireland and the Trump effect on FDI into Ireland are of key concerns to businesses across Ireland and in particular in Galway.

This event provides a unique opportunity to hear the perspective of leading economist Professor Alan Ahearne in a forum that discusses the concerns of individual businesses in an uncertain climate.”

The business breakfast (7.30am to 9.00am ) is free to attend but pre-registration is essential. To register contact [email protected]
