O’Donnellan & Joyce to feature in new TV series Find Me A Home

O’Donnellan & Joyce, the largest auction house outside Dublin, is to feature in a new television series on RTE.

Find Me A Home is a nationwide six-part observational documentary series following the trials and tribulations of those trying to buy, rent, or sell a home in the current property market.

The first episode to be aired at 8.30pm today, September 1, will feature first time buyers Suzanne and Maria, who attend their first property auction with O’Donnellan & Joyce in Galway in the hope of buying their dream home. We see them at open viewings and ultimately bidding on a two bedroom mid-terrace house on Henry Street at O’Donnellan & Joyce’s auction on May 4 this year.

Across the series there is a wide variety of house hunters, often in very tricky situations — first time buyers finding it difficult to get a mortgage and a deposit, downsizers hoping to trade down to release cash, buyers and sellers at property auctions, home owners in negative equity, and renters who fear they will never get their foot on the property ladder

Together with O’Donnellan & Joyce which represents the west of Ireland, the series will also go behind the scenes with estate agents in Dublin, Wicklow, Cavan, Leitrim, Limerick, and Cork as they try to help stimulate the market after a turbulent decade — with mixed results.

It is a highly charged mix of emotions as couples and individuals struggle to make the most important decision of their lives.

Don’t forget to tune in to RTE One today, September 1, at 8.30pm to get a taste of what goes on behind the scenes with Colm O’Donnellan and his auction team at O’Donnellan & Joyce.
