Can you capture Galway in a one minute film?

Deadline for submissions extended to Monday September 12

THE DEADLINE for submissions to Galway's upcoming The One Minute Film Festival has been extended to Monday September 12 at 12 noon. Entries need only be 60 seconds long, and is open to amateurs using an iPad or camera phone, not just professionals with a 35mm camera.

Galway UNESCO City of film is calling for submissions in the form of a one minute HD film based on the theme ‘Galway: My Home, My Place’. The top 30 entries will be screened at the One Minute Film festival as part of Culture Night on Friday September 16.

Entry is open to all levels of experience, from beginners and hobbyists, to professionals. Submitted films must show what the city means to the film-maker. Previously held in conjunction with the Galway Film Fleadh, the return of the festival has been curated especially for Culture Night 2016.

The 30 chosen films will be selected and screened at various venues in Galway city and county on Culture Night, including at the Galway City Museum and in Áras Eanna in Inis Oírr, Aran Islands.
