Lions Club thanks the public

The Galway Lions Club has thanked the public and local businesses for supporting its fundraising efforts throughout 2008, especially in the run up to Christmas.

“None of our work would be possible without the generosity of the people of Galway and the business community,” says its president Jim Cahill.

“We wish to sincerely thank all those who have contributed in any way and we recognise their continued support. All work by Galway Lions Club and friends is voluntary and funds raised primarily go to supporting local projects within the Galway community.”

Galway Lions Club is a service organisation of about 55 members, male and female, committed to change in the community through fundraising programmes and volunteering.

Lions Clubs International is the largest service organisation in the world. The Galway Club runs annual events including a radio auction in conjunction with Galway Bay FM and Eircom, an annual holiday for senior citizens, supermarket cash collections, breakfast mornings, sponsored walks and much more.
