Soul/Americana singer Erisa Rei @ Monroe’s Live

SOUL, COUNTRY, and blues all originated in the American South and despite a history of racism and segregation, country and soul have often inspired and intermingled with each other.

Continuing that venerable tradition is Nashville based soul/Americana singer Erisa Rei who plays Monroe’s Live on Saturday February 6 at 8pm.

Her songs mix blues, soul, and roots rock, and her wide vocal range has the ability to dig deep, producing very soulful results. She has won the iShowcase/Warner Bros Records Showcase, was listed as Artist to Watch by NSAI, and her album Black Ball was No 2 on Roots Music Report, with the ballad ‘Like Dominoes’ attracting attention. Her next single, 'About Love', about her husband, is out in February. Not bad for a mum who also manages to home school her five children.

Tickets are €10/7. See www.monroes.ie
