Jason Byrne.

JASON BYRNE, 20 years in comedy, two decades of making Ireland and Britain laugh, and critical acclaim which has led The Times to declare him, "the outright king of live comedy". No wonder he is in a mood to celebrate.

Jason is marking this career milestone in his new show, 20 Years A Clown, which he will perform in the Town Hall Theatre on Friday February 5 at 8pm. The show already went down a storm in Edinburgh. In a five star review, James McPherson of the EdFestMag wrote:

"The topics he covers are nothing out of the ordinary, but his strength of character and delivery really creates a fantastic hour of comedy. Of particular note is the way in which he interacts hugely with the audience throughout the entire show, seemingly abandoning his prepared material to go off on wildly hilarious tangents with whatever the unsuspecting members of the audience hand him. And that’s without going into the treat he has for the audience towards the end of his show, where they get to humiliate him, for a change. Brilliant."

On TV Jason has hosted The Snaptastic Show on TV3 and appeared on Live at the Apollo (BBC One ), Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave ), The Channel 4 Comedy Gala, John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky One ) and Anonymous (RTÉ 2 ).

This is a 'Róisín Dubh presents...' show. Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777,www.tht.ie ); www.roisindubh.net; the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street; and The Róisín Dubh.
