Well known healer brings cures to Athenry and Athlone

Paddy Hughes had no idea of what fate had in store for him 30 years ago when his aunt chose him to carry on the gift of healing which had been in the family for more than 100 years.

Hughes has close to 30 different cures and healings through prayer. His remedies include oatmeal to cure asthma, angina, and headaches, and sand to get rid of warts and veruccas.

Paddy Hughes cannot explain how it works, but he is a great believer in the power of prayer.

He says that he gets requests from people of all walks of life. He adds with a touch of humour, “When they have tried the rest, they come to me”. He also works on animals and said he has had great success in curing orf in sheep. A phone call can relieve red water in cattle or pink eye in animals, he claims.

Paddy Hughes will be in the Raheen Woods Hotel, Athenry, on Fridays September 18 and 25 and October 2 from 1pm to 7pm, and The Creggan Court Hotel, Athlone, on Saturdays September 19 and 26 and October 3 from 11am to 4pm. For more information phone 048 87738626,
