Arts festival techno nights @ Electric

New Jackson, I-F, and Tensnake

DUTCH DJ legend I-F, leading German producer Tensnake, and David Kitt's New Jackon DJ persona are the highlights of an impressive roster of techno and house talent playing Electric during the Galway International Arts Festival.

New Jackson, the house and techno alter ego of singer-songwriter David Kitt, comes to Bap To The Future on the Electric Mainfloor tonight from 10pm. Having released his first record as New Jackson in 2011, Kitt's project has since gained momentum with releases on major European labels Permanent Vacation and Hivern Discs, and new Irish label Major Problems. New Jackson has also remixed for The XX, turning the latter's 'Swept Away' into a swinging funk groove. Support is from Major Problem's Barry Redsetta. Admission is €10/8.

On Saturday 18 from 10pm, Epoch will host I-F in Factory. I-F (Viewlexx, The Hague ) is a pioneering force behind the Dutch West Coast music scene responsible for the revival of Italo Disco and much of today’s house and techno styles, through his many labels and influential radio station Intergalactic FM.

Also on the bill is Wicklow based Automatic Tasty, one of Ireland’s most sought after producers. His live show is a spectacle of all that is good about house and techno. Support is from Epoch residents. Admission is €10/8.

The Electric Three-Room Party, featuring Tensnake, Daniel Wang, and the DMX Krew comes to Electric on Saturday 25 from 10pm.

Tensnake, German producer and DJ extraordinaire Marco Niemerski, will be on the main floor delivering his own brand of deep, funky house and disco. He came to attention with the 2010 hit 'Coma Cat', and has released music on Running Back, Permanent Vacation, and Defected; has worked with Chic’s Nile Rodgers last year; and enjoyed residencies in Ibiza.

In Factory, Bap To The Future will host DMX Krew (Edward Upton ) who will spin electro and acid house. Having released the bulk of his material on Aphex Twin's Rephlex Records, Upton was one of the first artists to mine the eighties boogie, Miami bass, synth pop, and acid house to create a playful contemporary take on these forms.

In the Garden, The Disconauts present Daniel Wang who will be deliver orchestral, ecstatic, smile inducing, disco fuelled sound. Admission to the party is €12/10
