Rachael Sage - ‘one part Elton John, one part Kate Bush’

Award winning singer-songwriter to play Monroe’s Live

SHE IS “one part Elton John, one part Kate Bush” according to Uncut, while Billboard.com declared her “keen ironic sense of humour and quirky sense of the profound is what makes her special as a songwriter”. She is American folk/chamber-pop singer-songwriter Rachael Sage who plays Monroe’s Live.

Sage plays the Dominick Street venue on Tuesday March 3 at 9pm as part of her current tour to promote her new album Blue Roses. The 13 track album sees Sage collaborate with Daft Punk and members of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band, as well as duet with folk legend Judy Collins.

Sage has won acclaim for her dynamic piano playing, delicate guitar work, soulful vocals, and improvisational audience interaction. She has shared stages with Sarah McLachlan, Colin Hay, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, and Ani DiFranco. The American has also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won The John Lennon Songwriting Contest and several Independent Music awards. Her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO, the Fame soundtrack, and in the current season of Lifetime’s hit reality series, Dance Moms.
