Gerry Kennedy’s new charity single for GROW and Pieta House

GERRY KENNEDY, the Galway singer-songwriter is launching his new single ‘Don’t Turn Out The Light’ today at 5.45pm in OMG Zhivago, Shop Street.

Gerry wrote the song as a response to the passing of several people, mostly young, who found it impossible to carry on. The aim of the new single is to raise awareness in Galway about mental health, the importance of offering hope, and reducing the stigma around the topic of suicide.

At the launch, Gerry will perform ‘Don’t Turn Out The Light’ while Paul Clabby (GROW Mental Health ) and Tom McEvoy (Pieta House ) will be speaking at the event. Gerry has also kindly offered to donate all the proceeds of the song to Irish charities GROW Mental Health and Pieta House.

GROW is Ireland's largest community based mental health charity, with more 100 free support groups nationwide. GROW has six support groups in Galway county including a young adult group in Galway city. Pieta House is a centre for the prevention of self-harm or suicide and its Galway centre is based in Tuam.

Admission to the single launch is free.
