VOIDS to launch debut EP with Factory gig

VOIDS, the left-field indie-electronica duo from Galway, launch their debut EP Begin, at 11pm tomorrrow in Factory, Abbeygate Street.

VOIDS’ music incorporates effected vocals, harmonious bass loops, and tripped-out beats that build layers of emotive textures. Begin is released via Sert One’s Fly High Society label. It was produced with the help of Lewis James and mastered by Ean. Check out this stream of the title track:

VOIDS formed in 2012 after vocalist Alison and instrumentalist Andrew, who had been writing and jamming together in an unofficial manner, were asked to provide music for an event at the Town Hall Theatre. They continued to develop their own sound influenced by Jaco Pastorius, The Knife, and Squarepusher.

The EP has already gained praise from heavy weights in the bass music and electronica such as LV and Om Unit, who referred to VOIDS’ sound as “beautifully dark and spacious”.

Support is from Lewis James and Reich Joyce. Admission is free.
