Brain Tumour Ireland ‘Wellness Days’ go west

Brain Tumour Ireland is holding the latest in its series of ‘Wellness Days’ for brain tumour patients in Galway. The free event will take place on Saturday September 13 in the Cancer Care West Support Centre from 10am to 3.15pm.

Speaking on behalf of the charity, spokesperson, Naomi Roche, said: “We are delighted to bring the latest in our series of ‘Wellness Days’ to the west. This is a free event for brain tumour patients, their families and carers.

“This is a chance for our friends in the brain tumour community to take some time out to focus on themselves and their wellbeing. We would also welcome patients experiencing other neurological conditions to join us on the day.

“The Galway Wellness Day will feature a yoga session, an informative talk on nutrition, and a chance to engage in creative therapy in the form of expressive arts. It is also a great chance to meet with other patients and carers in a relaxed and informal setting.

“As the first national voluntary organisation dedicated to brain tumours, we are extremely grateful to the many people who have fundraised for us since we were established in 2012. The funds are used in our work to support brain tumour patients and their families throughout Ireland, and the series of ‘Wellness Days’ is just one example of this work.

“Patients looking for ongoing support should also be aware of our Galway brain tumour support group, which meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the Cancer Care Centre West Support Centre.”
