Cllr McDonnell to help Renmore Gymnastics Club to secure new facility

Independent councillor for Galway City East, Declan McDonnell is working with Renmore Gymnastics Club on its long-term plans to develop a purpose built gymnastics facility for their club.

“The Renmore Gymnastics Club caters for 1,300 children and adults on a weekly basis and I am delighted to have been asked to work with them on their long-term project of securing a site and constructing a purpose-built facility.

“At the moment they have 15 part-time coaches and three full-time staff but they cannot continue to grow unless they secure larger accommodation. I have visited their current gymnasium in Ballybrit on a number of occasions and last week I brought the city manager, Brendan McGrath to see their facilities. He was very impressed with the work being done by the club and he has indicated that he would also examine ways to try and move this project forward.”

Cllr McDonnell concluded: “This is one of the most exciting projects to be brought forward in the past number of years and I am delighted to have been asked to help and advise the club on this project.”
