Start the New Year by learning Irish

If one of your goals for 2009 is to learn Irish from scratch, improve the Irish you have, or to gain an internationally recognised qualification in the language, than Conradh na Gaeilge has the courses for you.

Conradh na Gaeilge has Irish classes to suit every level, a variety of new social events at Club Árus na nGael, as well as opportunities for people to gain a Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge certificate accredited by NUI Maynooth

Teachers have several years’ experience facilitating classes to enable learners to develop what they hear, read, and speak. The emphasis is on conversational Irish and words and phrases that are in everyday use.

Learners are also invited to join the Árus na nGael club for a drink after classes, and partake in the variety/range of social activities at the club.

The Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge is a European standardised language qualification awarded by NUI Maynooth. A selection of the course content will be covered at the classes and these classes are recognised by Maynooth as useful in preparing for the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge exams.

Booking is essential as places are limited. Registration takes place on Monday January 19. Classes begin on Monday 26.

Conradh na Gaeilge is also holding sean nós dancing classes under the expert tuition of Conamara sean-nós dancer Pádraig Ó hOibicín.

Classes begin on Monday January 19 at 7pm and 8pm for the complete beginner and at 9pm for more experienced learners. Classes are bilingual so they are also a fun way to learn Irish if you are not already fluent. Classes cost €90 for 10 weeks.

For more information on both the Irish and sean nós dancing classes contact Conradh na Gaeilge, Árus na nGael, 45 Dominick Street, 091 - 567824, [email protected], or www.cnag.ie
