Galway Bay should be used as a local source of revenue

Galway city and county councils should enchance Galway Bay’s value as a key asset and driver of economic growth, says local Fianna Fáil candidate MacDara Hosty.

Hosty has suggested the local councils take a more strategic approach to consolidating Galway Bay as a source of local revenue.

Hosty has proposd the establishment of an interdisciplinary working group that would deliver a medium term, sustainable, strategic development plan for Galway Bay.

This would supposedly produce a plan to improve the economic prosperity of the area, with research into possible funding options.

Mr Hosty commented: “We have been blessed with a magnificent natural resource in Galway Bay. It behoves us to ensure that we use it wisely, make it available to all those who would wish to enjoy and benefit from it, and protect it to ensure that it is there for the use and enjoyment of future generations.”
