Irish Times editor to speak at free digital media seminar

Online Marketing in Galway is hosting a free seminar on digital media and marketing.

Special guests, Hugh Linehan of The Irish Times, and Niall McElwee of Book Hub Publishing, will address the seminar to be held on march Tuesday May 27 at the Harbour Hotel.

Hugh Linehan, who is digital development editor at The Irish Times will present "Back to the Drawing Board: Reinventing Media in the Digital Era". It will focus on audiovisual content, social media strategy and mobile platforms.

Linehan has held various previous positions at The Irish Times, including online editor, features editor, and editor of The Ticket, the newspaper's weekly entertainment supplement.

The second presentation from Niall McElwee, senior editor and director of Book Hub Publishing, will present the world of editing, publishing and marketing, taking into account current developments in the print and internet worlds.

The event is sponsored by Book Hub Publishing, an indie publisher based in Athenry, Co Galway. The night will conclude with a question and answer session.
