JoinThe Spanish Institute for its official launch

The Spanish Institute is having its official launch on Friday April 25. The event starts at 6pm and guests will be invited to enjoy Spanish wine and tapas in its premises at 58 Dominick Street.

The Spanish Institute is honoured to have as their special guest Oisin Browne, newly instated honorary vice-consul of The Spanish Embassy, who will be speaking at the event. The Institute has seven years of experience with teaching languages in Galway but has recently transitioned towards focusing exclusively on Spanish. It is now establishing itself as the centre of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in Galway. The launch will be the first of a number of cultural events that The Spanish Institute will organise as it develops.

Along with cultural events and activities, the Institute is also starting a new term of Spanish language courses at the end of this month. It offers adults courses, exam preparation courses for teenagers, and courses for children. The adult courses range from beginner to advanced and the team at The Spanish Institute can help learners at any level find a course that suits them. Junior and Leaving Certificate courses take place over five weeks and are priced at €50. These courses are designed to give students individual practice with native speakers in preparation for the exam season. Spanish for Kids focuses on the fun aspects of language learning. Children from age four to 11 are welcome to take part in the eight- week course that takes place on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
