THAD BECKMAN has “chops, writing talent, a big personality, and a bag full of true stories which all dovetail for a cool show.”
So said the San Antonio Express-News about the American singer-songwriter, who plays Monroe’s Backstage Bar this Saturday at 8.30pm. This will be the songwriter’s second appearance in the city, having supported Tom Russell last year.
A professional musician for more than 30 years, Beckman is a highly accomplished guitarist. His finely crafted original songs are the story of life and the voice of modern America, from the growling delta blues of the Deep South, to evocative contemporary folk.
As the Americana/folk website No Depression said: “If you have never heard Mr Beckman play, you have really been missing out.”
Tickets are €10 on the door or €8.50 through www.monroes.ie
