Sean Hughes, Cúirt, and penguins

SEAN HUGHES, one of Ireland’s most brilliant comedians, will perform his new show Penguins, as part of the Cúirt literature festival.

Sean Hughes will perform Penguins in the Druid Theatre, Druid Lane, on Friday April 11 at 8pm. In it, Sean will ask, ‘Why does society tell us how to behave and react?’ and ‘What does it have to do with penguins?’ In between he will explore his Dublin upbringing, the awkwardness of teenage life, his family, his school days, friendship, and life today.

Penguins won the Herald Angels Award for Best Comedy show at The Edinburgh Fringe 2013, with The Sunday Herald giving it five stars and saying it showed Sean at “his funniest and most profound”.

This is a ‘Róisín Dubh and RBM presents...’ show. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
