Gregory O’Gorman has been appointed as Group Marketing Director at the Kilkenny Group, having previously operated as the company’s Marketing Manager. This is the first such role within the Kilkenny Group and from his new capacity, Gregory will now oversee the areas of Visual Merchandising and Group Logistics within the company, as well as his traditional forte of Marketing and PR.
Gregory is the eldest son of Kilkenny CEO Marian O’Gorman and has been a prominent member of the family business for over 10 years, both at managerial and board level. Gregory’s career with Kilkenny began in 2003 working as store manager of Kilkenny’s Galway branch, later stepping into the Group’s marketing role in 2005.
Since starting with the company, Mr O’Gorman has been invaluable in developing the company’s growth strategy and store expansion, having implemented a number of targeted marketing and advertising campaigns across all Kilkenny stores. One of these key campaigns included the development of the Kilkenny website, kilkennyshop.com, as well as a strategic company partnership with Ebay.
Mr O’Gorman hopes to continue the outstanding performance and growth of the Kilkenny Group in the retail sector through his new role as Group Marketing Director.
The Kilkenny Group currently employs 230 staff with 13 stores nationwide (11 own brand stores and 2 sister Christy’s stores) as well as 2 restaurants and an online store, kilkennyshop.com Company turnover year ending January 2014 reached €25.5million, marking the most successful trading period for the company in its 51 year history.
