Love Galway this April and take part in An Taisce's National Spring Clean campaign

April is National Spring Clean month and Galway City Council is encouraging schools, groups, and individuals from all over the city to take part in Ireland's biggest anti-litter initiative.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the National Spring Clean campaign and over half a million people will take part in more than 5,000 clean-ups across the country. In Galway city, a Big Clean-Up Day will take place on April 1 with more than 25 schools participating in a clean-up of their school grounds and surrounding areas.

Sharon Carroll, environmental education officer with Galway City Council, says: “National Spring Clean Month provides an excellent opportunity for groups and individuals to show that they 'Love Where They Live' by taking part in a clean-up of their local area. A free clean-up kit is available from An Taisce or from Galway City Council when you register your clean-up."
