Award winning Mexican film for Town Hall

NEWLY ARRIVED in Mexico City, Roberto opens a restaurant, while daughter Alejandra quickly makes friends with the popular kids in school. It seems a great start to a new life.

However, when a drunken sexual experience gets recorded and circulated, Alejandra becomes the object of vicious bullying, and she keeps it a secret from her father, who still grieves after his late wife.

This is After Lucia, which will be screened in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday at 8pm by the Galway Film Society. The film won the prestigious Un Certain Regard prize at Cannes 2012, while the performances from Hernan Mendoza and Tessa Ia Gonzalez have been much praised.
