Galway acts to play Westport Festival

DOTT AND Boyfights are among the Galway acts playing this year’s Westport Festival of Music & Food on June 28 and 29 at Westport House, Mayo.

Dott, led by singer-songwriter Anna McCarthy, fuse garage rock, indie pop, and vocal harmonies to stunning effect, as heard on their wonderful debut album Swoon (available on Bandcamp ).

Boyfights, are a trio led by guitarist and songwriter Eoin Reily, who draw on the Pixies and The Breeeders to create a dynamic alternative-rock sound. Also playing is Clare born, Galway based Daithí, a multi-talented trad fiddler, math-rock/electro composer-producer; and the band left-field folk-pop band My Fellow Sponges, whose debut album, Bonne Nuit, was released last year.

Both acts will play the festival’s Róisín Dubh Stage which will also host performances by Cast of Cheers, Lisa O’Neill, We Cut Corners, Enemies, Windings, Tvvins, Elaine Mai, The Depravations, Rudy Trixx, It Was All A Bit Black & White, Zero Era and Tracy Bruen.
