Artists announced for TULCA 2013

NEAL WHITE and Tina O’Connell, Bojan Fajfric, Sandra Johnston, and Robert Ellis will exhibit at the 2013 TULCA Festival of Visual Art.

London based Neal White and Tina O'Connell will present The Speedie Telstar (Trips from the analogue to the digital ), a piece created following a research trip to the Computer and Communications Museum of Ireland to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Telstar.

The ‘Speedie’ Telstar Tour will allow visitors to join an orbital bus tour in Galway exploring historical and contemporary developments of information and communications technology in Ireland. The tour will also take visitors offsite to the INSIGHT Centre for Data Analytics, NUI Galway.

Photographer Robert Ellis was commissioned by TULCA curator Valerie Connor to photograph Terryland People’s Park for the festival catalogue.

Yugoslav born Bojan Faifric will screen his film Theta Rhythm at the festival. He left Yugoslavia in 1995, when he went to study visual arts in the Netherlands and graduated from the Royal Academy in The Hague.

Also exhibiting will be Northern Irish artist Sandra Johnson.
