What does the future hold for Shannon Airport?

Mary Considine, Director at Shannon Airport, will address members of the Institute of Directors in Ireland (IoD ) and business leaders from Galway and surrounding counties, at a dedicated evening briefing on Thursday, October 3 2013, in the Connacht Hotel, Galway.

Mary Considine was appointed Director at Shannon Airport in December 2010 and will share her experiences on the recent developments at the airport, including the proposal to create Shannon Group plc, incorporating the extensive property holdings of Shannon Development and the creation of an International Aviation Services Centre (IASC ) at Shannon.

As a transatlantic gateway between Europe and America, Shannon Airport is of vital importance to the Irish tourism industry with encouraging growth in passenger numbers in recent months, in particular from the US.

Mary Considine has extensive experience in airport management and prior to her appointment as Director, she held a number of senior roles in the Airport. In 2012 she was appointed to both the Change Management Task Force and Aviation Business Development Task Force set up as part of the Government’s decision, in principle, to separate Shannon Airport from the Dublin Airport Authority.

The aim was to bring it together with elements of Shannon Development to form a new entity to maximise the potential of the aviation sector within the region.

This dedicated evening briefing will take place on Thursday, 3rd October 2013, at 5.00pm to 6.30pm in the Connacht Hotel, Dublin Road, Renmore, Co. Galway.
