War Iron to lead Cellar metal night

BELFAST METAL band War Iron, who formed out of stoner sludge doom band The Naut, play The Cellar underground tomorrow at 9pm.

War Iron play pulverisingly heavy music - a product not only of their love of metal but also their unusual line-up of a drummer, singer, and two bass players. They opted for two basses as the traditional guitar and bass format “just wasn't heavy enough”.

The band has released The Faceless Sea EP (2010 ) and The Fifth and Final Sun album (2012 ), while the Of Prophecy and Alchemy EP is due for release soon. They have supported Napalm Death, GBH, and Conan and played across Ireland and Britain.

Support is from Nimh Stil, No Man's Land, Weed Priest and Cat Piss Brain Rot. Admission is free.
