Huge response to Evergreen colouring competition

Evergreen Healthfoods has been inundated with entries to its second annual Christmas colour competition. The competition, which ran for two weeks in early December, received nearly 1,000 entries across three age categories from children throughout Galway.

The competition was launched again this year with a full page advertisement in the Galway Advertiser and through posters in each of the five Evergreen stores. There was huge interest from the start with all stores running out of entry forms on the first day. Six primary schools from across the county also got involved with teachers taking entry forms for their students to colour in art classes.

The competition closed on Sunday and judging will get under way shortly.

“We are really delighted with the response we have received this year and the entries keep getting better and better,” said Jason Cotter, marketing assistant with Evergreen Healthfoods. “The children in Galway have put a huge effort into their pieces of art and have been very creative. The judging panel will soon look at all of the entries. They have an extremely tough job ahead of them in choosing a winning entry and runners up for each of the three age categories.”

The colouring competition winners will be announced in the New Year.
