Piercing music at Monroe’s Live

Foot-stomping Australian folksters The Pierce Brothers come to Monroe’s Live this Saturday.

The duo made their name busking on the streets of Melbourne and, following a sold-out Australian tour, they garnered airplay on BBC radio and have decided to bring their wares to the northern hemisphere.

With intricate harmonies and arpeggiated chords, their sound is reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel, although their rockier sound and energetic stage presence also bring to mind the modern folk heroes Mumford and Sons.

On the back of the successful release of their latest single, ‘Blind Boys Run’, The Pierce Brothers have just been announced as tour support for Mick Flannery’s upcoming six-date UK tour.

By the time the year is out, The Pierce Brothers could be the name on everybody’s lips. Take the chance to catch a band on the rise at the Monroe’s Live Backstage Bar this Saturday at 10pm. Afterwards, the Brothers will be followed on the Monroe’s Live Mainstage by the most popular covers band in the west, Oddity, at midnight.
