Junior Chamber to host Now ACT’s What I Call Music fundraising night

With the professional help of Sean Rowland of MusicMaster.ie, Junior Chamber International Galway (JCI Galway ) and ACT for Meningitis are hosting a night of variety entertainment which will take place on Friday September 20 2013 at 8pm at the Galway Bay Hotel.

The glitzy event, aptly named Now ACTS’s what I call Music includes celebrity guest MC Dave O’Connor and promises a wide range of music, dance and general entertainment from Galway based groups and artists such as the Galway Cathedral Gospel Choir, Regina Rogers Ballet School, Mystic Force Irish Dancers, Sara O’Kane a Galway based global singer and DJ, singer and flutist Suzanne O’Brien, award winning local singer-songwriter Johnny Garvey and the NUIG Staff Choir.

Tickets are just €20 and include the best of our local entertainment, finger food, a glass of wine, a chocolate fountain, plus the chance to win some super raffle prizes. The evening will also include a disco and karaoke so all budding performers will have the chance to show off their talents.

JCI Galway and MusicMaster.ie both believe in supporting the local community which is reflected in the choice of artists and the charity. Sean Rowland has a big passion for all aspects of music and recently set up MusicMaster.ie providing services as a pianist for weddings and special occasions, working as an entertainment agent and directing the amazing Galway Cathedral Gospel Choir.

Olivia Hayes, JCI Galway president added: “As president of Junior Chamber International (JCI ) Galway it gives me great pleasure to present Now ACT’s What I call Music in aid of ACT for Meningitis and in association with MusicMaster.ie It is our mission is to provide development opportunities that empower people to make a positive change. We run many community projects that promote entrepreneurship and community development in Galway city. The event ties in extremely well with JCI Ireland’s national campaign, Active Citizenship Week and the work that Siobhan Carroll and her team do in raising awareness of the symptoms of meningitis is amazing. Siobhan Carroll is an active citizen and is a pleasure to work on this fundraising event.”

Siobhán and her husband Noel founded the charity in 2011 after losing their daughter Aoibhe, aged four, to meningitis in 2008. They established the non-profit organisation as they felt the urgent need to increase awareness and educate people of the signs and symptoms of meningitis along with offering a support base to families and individuals who have been affected by meningitis.

All proceeds received will be divided between JCI Galway and ACT for meningitis. Tickets can be purchased by contacting JCI Galway, MusicMaster.ie or ACT for Meningitis.
