Funding announced for Claregalway/Oranmore roads

Additional funding of €400,000 for roads in the Oranmore area has been provided by the Department of Transport, but it must be spent within the next six months.

The funds were announced at Monday’s county council meeting. The funding is as follows: Moneymore (€100,000 ), Farravaun (€62,000 ), Ballymoneen (€36,000 ), Ballinvoher (€34,000 ), Kiniska (€30,000 ), Ballinacloughy (€26,000 ), Gortadooey (€17,000 ), Ballinacloughy (€12,000 ), Claregalway (€12,000 ), Kilskeagh (€11,000 ), Moyvilla (€10,000 ).

In addition to this, €20,000 has been allocated for safety works at the Creganna junction with the N18, and €30,000 for a safety scheme at Gortroe, Corrandulla.

The allocations have been welcomed by Independent county councillor for the Oranmore area, Jim Cuddy.
