The ‘mesmerising’ Grizzly Bear to play Big Top

BEYONCÉ AND Jay-Z are fans, so too is Paul Simon, while Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood called them “Mesmerizing...nobody makes music quite like this.”

Their music has featured in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Kids Are All Right, Crazy, Stupid, Love and Blue Valentine, while the single ‘Two Weeks’ featured on How I Met Your Mother.

They are Brooklyn quartet Grizzly Bear who play a ‘Galway Arts Festival and Róisín Dubh present...’ concert in the Festival Big Top, Fisheries Field, on Friday July 19 at 7pm.

The band - Chris Bear, Ed Droste, Daniel Rossen and Chris Taylor - mix psychedelic pop, folk rock, indie, and experimental music, with captivating four part vocal harmonies.

Their 2009 breakthrough album Veckatimest (2009 ) and its even more impressive follow-up Shields (2012 ), both went Top 10 in America and Britain. Shields made the best albums of the year lists for Pitchfork and Rolling Stone and was the Galway Advertiser’s 2012 Album of the Year.
