Cregal Art is celebrating its 50th year in business by holding a free art and craft extravaganza.

The event takes place on Saturday June 1 from 10am to 6pm at the Cregal Art premises on Monivea Road.

Throughout the day there will be several activities to choose from that will appeal to children and adults of all ages as well as many special prizes and offers to be given away. The Mayor of Galway City, Councillor Terry O’Flaherty will also be in attendance.

On the day there will be face painting and art classes for children, as well as craft demonstrations including screen-printing, pottery and card-making; painting demonstrations including watercolour and oil painting; and demonstrations on the various aspects of framing.

There will be local professional artists and craftspeople attending, available to provide people with useful tips and advice. After the event, people will have the opportunity to create their own masterpieces during the day and take them home afterwards.

Food and beverages will be available throughout, while the Galway Bay FM Baycaster will provide music and entertainment live onsite.

There will also be plenty of free parking available for all attendees.

Established in 1963, Cregal Art has become the largest art and crafts retail and wholesale store in the west and one of the biggest companies of its kind in Ireland.
