North Beach Poetry Nights

CORK BORN slam poet Fergus Costello will bring his “God awful, bog standard, horrendous abuse of the English language to a Galway house for the first time.”

This is how the man himself describes his own work but many others hold it higher regard as Fergus is the winner of RTÉ Radio 1 Ireland’s Funniest 2011, winner of Listowel Writers’ Week International Storytelling Competition 2011, and winner of the Michael Hartnett Best Original poem 2012.

Fergus will read at the North Beach Poetry Nights on Monday March 25 at The Crane Bar, Sea Road, at 6.30pm.

Poets wishing to enter the Slam need two three minutes poems. The poem for the second round should be performed without a script. The prize is a bottle of wine and entry to the North Beach Grand Slam in December.

Admission is €5/3.
