Brigit's Garden finalist in national business awards

Brigit's Garden, the unique Celtic Gardens and Visitor Centre in Roscahill, is a finalist in this year's Small Firms Association national business awards. The winners will be announced at a gala event in Dublin on March 7 and the awards presented by An Taoiseach.

”We are delighted to be a finalist in the Environmental Sustainability section of the SFA awards.” said Jenny Beale, Project Director at Brigit's Garden. “This has been a landmark year for Brigit's Garden following an investment of €250,000 in our new Visitor Centre, supported by a LEADER grant through Forum Connemara.' Brigit's Garden welcomes almost 20,000 visitors a year to their 11-acre site, from local schools to visitors from all over the world. ‘As a not-for-profit project we offer a range of services to tourism and education, as well as providing relaxing facilities for corporate meetings and team away-days,’ said Jenny Beale.

The aim of the SFA awards is to celebrate the achievements of small business in Ireland, and to recognise the vital contribution of the small business sector to Irish industry. There are six categories of awards for established businesses and an Emerging New Business award for companies less than two years old.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, TD, who is Patron of the Awards, said that: “Small businesses and entrepreneurs play a crucial and often underestimated role in our economy. The SFA National Small Business Awards enable us to reward and showcase Ireland’s entrepreneurial talent. I am confident that the talent and energy of Irish entrepreneurs highlighted through these awards will provide the basis for Ireland's re-emergence as a strong and successful economy.”
