Council to begin Housing Needs Assessment
By Kernan Andrews
The Galway City Council’s Housing Department has begun its Housing Needs Assessment with a view to competing its work by April.
People in need of accommodation; whose current accommodation is inadequate; who are unable to provide adequate accommodation from their own resources; and those who have not already applied to the City Council for housing are asked to contact City Hall as soon as possible.
Application for inclusion in this assessment should be submitted to the council no later than March 15 and application forms are available from www.galwaycity.ie
People who have already applied to the council for housing will be contacted individually to confirm their details. This confirmation must be returned to City Hall by March 15. Those who have changed address since applying must notify the local authority by no later than March 7.
People who need assistance in completing the Housing Needs Assessment can contact COPE, Threshold, the Galway Migrant Service, and the Galway Traveller Movement.
The council’s housing department office is open from 1pm to 4pm, Mondays to Fridays, City Hall, College Road.
