Chief economist to be keynote speaker at launch of SCCUL Mentors.ie
r Dan McLaughlin, Group Chief Economist of the Bank of Ireland will be the key note speaker at the launch of the 2013 Programme from SCCUL Mentors.ie on Wednesday January 30 at 8pm in the Clayton Hotel.
Facilitated by Padraig O’Callaghan, Secretary SCCUL Enterprises and member of the SCCUL Mentors Advisory Board, the event will include case studies from businesses and mentors who have taken part in SCCUL Mentors.ie structured mentoring programme.
Since its establishment last May, over 160 SMEs in Galway City have benefited from the pro bono sharing of expertise from leading business figures in Galway.
A panel of 70 mentors working on a voluntary basis has provided over 630 hours of free business advice and guidance to help nurture and further develop local businesses in Galway.
Announcing the SCCUL Mentors.ie programme launch Colman Collins, Chairman SCCUL Mentors.ie Advisory Board said that this was a unique opportunity for businesses to learn more about the SCCUL Mentors programme and hear from one of Ireland’s best known economists on the economic outlook for 2013.
“SCCUL Mentors.ie has had a fantastic response to the first phase of the mentoring programme which was launched last May. In nine months it has helped over 160 business owners with access to different perspectives and invaluable guidance and insight to take their business to the next level. This year we hope to expand the programme to all areas of County Galway and assist business owners to succeed in the year ahead,” said Colman Collins.
“We are delighted Dr Dan McLaughlin has agreed to be the key note speaker at the launch of the 2013 Mentoring Programme. He is one of Ireland’s best known economists and has written extensively on economics and financial markets for many years,” concluded Mr Collins.
The launch of the SCCUL Mentors’ 2013 Programme is a free event, however registration is required.
