Ballinderreen enjoy healthy 2012

Ballinderreen Juvenile Hurling Club may not have won much silverware this season, but at the end of 2012 the club remains in a healthy position, according to chairman Martin Murphy.

Mr Murphy said 93 players are registered with the club which will conclude this year in a “relatively healthy financial position”.

At the club’s recent annual general meeting, Murphy made special mention of Brendan Burke’s achievement in being included on the County u-14 team, while the u-16 camogie team won the county final.

The club continued its emphasis on coaching and development by providing funding for all coaches who participate in Code of Best Practice, Foundation Level Hurling Coaching and Award 1 Hurling Youth and Adult Coaching Courses. This, he said, had greatly enhanced the standard of coaching offered by the club.
